Dear Japanese and German friends and colleagues
It is our pleasure to warmly welcome you to the 13th Meeting of the German-Japanese Society of Dermatology (GJSD) in the magnificent and traditional city of Munich on June 13th until June 15th 2018.
The German-Japanese Society of Dermatology was founded 30 years ago, in 1987, highlighting the old tradition of German-Japanese exchange in dermatology and medicine. Besides presenting an inspiring and outstanding scientific programme, meetings of the GJSD have also always been social highlights to enhance old friendships and form new ones and to tighten the junctions between Japanese and German dermatologists.
We are very grateful to host the 2018 meeting in the traditional and magnificent region of lake Tegernsee in the Bavarian Alps in southern Germany. The lake is the centre of a popular recreation area 50 kilometres (31 mi) south-east of Munich.
The buildings of the former Benedictine monastery of Tegernsee Abbey lie on the banks of the lake. Now in private hands, they are now known as Schloss Tegernsee.
Additionally, we are looking forward to an exceptional scientific program with, excellent state-of-the-art talks on important scientific developments in dermatology given by outstanding and honorable scientist from Germany and Japan. Travel scholarship will be provided to young Japanese investigators by the German Dermatological Association to facilitate their travel to Germany. This will foster the interaction between young Japanese and young German dermatologists even further.
We wish you a memorable educational experience and a truly Bavarian welcome!
Prof. Dr. med. Dr. h.c. mult. Thomas Ruzicka
